We are proud to announce our partnership with Little Wings, an Australian charity providing free air and ground transport services to seriously ill children and their families in rural and regional areas. Many of these families come from communities connected to the mining and construction industries, including those right here in the Macleay Valley, where DGI Trading is based.
Our involvement with Little Wings began through our Dirt and All podcast, where we had the privilege of hosting Clare Pearson, CEO of Little Wings. In our latest episode, Clare shared the charity’s incredible impact on rural and regional families, many of whom are tied to the mining sector.
Why Little Wings Matters to DGI Trading
In remote regions, access to specialist medical care often requires long and difficult travel, adding stress to already challenging circumstances. Little Wings steps in to provide crucial transport services, ensuring that sick children and their families can access the treatment they need, regardless of their location. This initiative resonates deeply with us at DGI Trading, as we see firsthand the impact this has on families in communities like Kempsey and the Macleay Valley.
How We’re Making a Difference
DGI Trading has implemented the Return and Earn program at our facility, making it easy for our team and visitors to contribute to Little Wings’ mission. For every 20 bottles or cans collected through this program, 1 litre of fuel is provided for Little Wings’ lifesaving flights. It’s a simple but powerful way for our team to support an initiative that directly benefits families in our local area.
In addition to our recycling efforts, we’re also raising awareness of Little Wings across our channels, encouraging other businesses within the mining and heavy equipment sectors to get involved. Together, we can extend the reach of this incredible charity and provide even more support to families in need.
